Poor puppies!

My puppies are sick. They went to the vet this morning to get their yearly check-up and booster and rabies shots. They made it through, but when Mommy brought them home Cheech threw up and looked very sick and tired. Mommy called the vet and they told her to bring him back in. The vet gave Cheech a steroid shot to make him feel better. Soon after Mommy brought Cheech back home he started running around rubbing his face all over the carpet like a rabid dog (even though he just got the shot for it)! Mommy called the vet once again and they told her to just bring him in for the day so they can keep a watchful eye on him. So Mommy left me with Daddy once again... (good thing he worked from home today, or it would have been even more stressful on Mommy to lug my chubby self around). 5 minutes after Mommy walks back through the door, Daddy tells her that Miley is now rubbing her face on the carpet. Mommy looks at her eyes and, sure enough, she had red rings around her eyes too! So.... Mommy, once again, drove to the vet, for the 4TH time, to take Miley in. They kept them 'til 4:30 and gave them medicine to help take their itchies away! My poor puppies are still not feeling good, but Mommy says they should feel better in the morning.

Cheech came and layed by me this morning. Mommy and Daddy thought it was the cutest thing!

Did you know, I will be 8 weeks old tomorrow? Mommy keeps telling me how she can't believe I am 2 months old already! I am getting big quick. Here I am today...

I got to try out my Bumbo seat for the first time... my head still wants to lean to the right sometimes, but I'm getting stronger by the minute!

Clean house!

We have a CLEAN house! Mommy spent the entire day cleaning our house from top to bottom... it looks wonderful! Not only did the house get cleaned, but so did the pups! Miley and Cheech got groomed today and boy were they in need of a hair cut! Heres a before and after.

They look a hundred times better! Mommy is actually showing them attention like Daddy wishes she'd do more of...instead of pushing them away because they smell of pee! We can tell they are much happier! Sadly, every time Cheech gets cut he loses more and more of his brown spots. He now only has very faint brown spots on his back... which makes Mommy and Daddy sad, but we still love him just the same!

I was a tired baby today... sorry.

Side note: I am on my way to take a bath! I love baths... just not the getting out part.

Turkey Butt!

Sorry to those of you who have been waiting for my next post. I've been quite a busy guy these last few days! Thanksgiving was fun but exhausting... I slept 90% of the day, but I got passed around probably 50 times so I didn't get the restful sleep I am used to getting at home. I enjoyed meeting a lot of new family members, and they all enjoyed seeing me and my Turkey butt!

I missed a couple days of my self portrait, but here I am on Thanksgiving day in my "Baby's First Thanksgiving" outfit. (I was a little tired during this photo shoot.)

Here I am yesterday before going to Aunt Jayne and Uncle Randy's house. Jayne is my Papa Warren's sister. I slept most of the time. Daddy set up skype so that we were able to talk to Papa Warren and Grammy Pammy at the same time. They also got to help us sing to Aunt Betty for her 80th birthday. When everyone began singing "Happy Birthday" I woke up... I loved the way it sounded!

People kept mentioning that next year for Thanksgiving I will be toddling around. I think that means I will be able to be free from everyone's arms, so that sounds like A LOT of fun to me! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to be held and cuddled, but I am starting to see how great moving around on your own can be... my cousin Alayna is a year older than me and she looks like she is having a blast doing whatever she wants! If only our parents knew what they will be dealing with when we get to playing together next year!

Today, Mommy was creeping on me and Daddy taking a nap together.

Side Note: This is what I have to deal with on a 24 hour basis...! I'm trying to say... "MOM... stop it!"

She loves me. I love her.

Also, I want to send a shout out to my cousin Atti on her first birthday! Hope to play with you one day soon!

Polar Bear feet!

I don't have much to write about today because I slept from oh... lets say... 10:00am to around 4:00pm. Mommy did all she could to wake me... and I wasn't having it! I feel great now though, and am looking forward to a warm night in with my parentals!

Here I am today... Mommy and I had a pajama day since it was too yucky to go anywhere!

Wow! I had no idea that my blog would be such a hit! Well... at least I know my family is reading it everyday... and waiting for more, so here goes! I am growing a lot these days. Doctor says that between 6 and 8 weeks I will go through a growth spurt. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow. Mommy is doing all she can to produce enough milk for my ever-growing tummy... I EAT A LOT! But she loves the bonding time we share when I eat, and so do I. I am staying awake more during the day... but still waking up a lot during the night to eat. I am learning how to use my hands more (Daddy is a righty and Mommy is a lefty, so you can guess what each of them is hoping that I am). I am starting to try to reach for things like my clothes and mommy's hair. She told Daddy she wanted to cut it, but he told her that if she did he would grow his hair long again... I guess it didn't look too good when he did that before... you be the judge!

Anyway, I am beginning to need more stimulation now that I am paying more attention to things. Mommy and Daddy both read books to me this past weekend.... I love to look at the pictures and they were having fun watching as my eyes got really big. Mommy sings to me a lot... she has a wonderful voice, although I hear that babies enjoy listening to any song (sung in tune, or not).

So there is a holiday coming up called Thanksgiving, you've probably heard of it. I don't know much of anything about it, but I just know that Daddy is excited to eat Turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy... looking forward to next Thanksgiving so I can get me some of that! We are going to Grandma and Grandpa Hinshaw's for lunch on Thanksgiving, then to Nana and Grandpa Riddle's for dinner. Glad I won't have to deal with the tummy ache after all that eating!

Alright, Mommy wants to continue, and do better about, taking my picture each and every day. She then wants me to post them here so you can watch me grow! So here I am today!

I love loud music...

Mommy and Daddy had a good time last night celebrating Adam's birthday. We went to Olive Garden where I slept the whole time... well at least until Mommy's food came out. I don't like when she is enjoying anything other than me... and that includes lasagna! I was a good boy though. After dinner we had people over to our house for a bit before going bowling. Mommy and I spent a lot of the time in my room... so I could eat in private, but Daddy sure had a fun time! Bowling was at 10pm. The music was kinda loud, but I love loud music... it's perfect for catching some good zzzs. I was out like a light! Mommy decided not to bowl so she could watch over me, but Daddy played two games. His first game didn't go so good and all of his second throws looked a little like this [--], except for the last frame. He scored 95. His second game was MUCH better, and he scored 147! I think I'm going to like bowling when I get bigger!

Daddy had been on after hours for work this week, so he had to have his phone close by in case of a problem. He accidentally left it behind at home, so when he realized it at 11:30pm, we had to leave. (Good news, he hadn't missed any calls!) Mommy was ready to leave so that she could bring me home to sleep. However, when we got home, I decided it was time to eat and cuddle more. I did NOT want to be put down, so again around 1am, Mommy gave up and left me with Daddy. She got up a couple hours later and fed me again. She then let me sleep with her and Daddy so we could all try to get some rest. I hope Mommy sleeps good... I know I DO! And that's what matters most right?!?!

Today, Mommy, Daddy and I took Miley and Cheech for a walk (we didn't get time to yesterday). I slept, while Mommy carried me on her chest with my BabyBjorn carrier. We visited with Nana, Grandpa, and Aunt Erica this afternoon. Those people are crazy but I love 'em. ;)

Side note: I am sleeping as I write this!

...3 hour struggle...

Get this! Last night, Mommy tried to put me to bed at 10:00pm!! She has not yet figured out that I too like to stay up late and have a fun-filled Friday night! I of course refused to go to bed that early, so after a 3 hour struggle, she gave up and passed me on to Daddy. Now this guy knows how to have a good time! He let me stay up with him as he fed me a yummy "ba-ba." We ended up passing out around 2:00am or so. By 3:00am I started missing my mama so I called for her to come get me. I then got to sleep in bed with her... I don't like sleeping in my crib 'cuz I can't see her from in there. She always tells me I have to sleep in my crib... but if I cry long enough I end up getting to sleep wherever I want to.

Mommy and I woke up at exactly 8:00am this morning. I felt bad for keeping her up late last night, so I gave her a big smile and have been a nice boy so far today. Things might change later once this thing called gas takes over my tummy. I don't know what this stuff is, or how I get it, but I don't like it AT ALL! Luckily I have my Mommy and Daddy to help me through it. They came up with a nice solution to help me get it out... but that is as far as I go on that subject.

Today is supposed to be fun! I am going to see my aunt Lindsey play basketball at Eureka College. I am told there will be a lot of girls there who will be "oooing" and "ahhing" at me... but what's new! :) Then I think I am coming home to take my crazy puppies for a walk. Miley and Cheech are absolutely NUTS, but I have a feeling they are going to be my best friends one day soon! Today is Daddy's friend Adam's birthday, so we are going out tonight for dinner and bowling to celebrate! I will let you know how that goes tomorrow!

It is supposed to be hard to take a picture of a baby smiling because we do it for only a couple seconds... however when you take a million pictures in a row like the paparazzi you are bound to get the picture you wanted.

...I'm kind of a big deal

Hi. I'm Jude Owen Franzen. I was born October 6, 2010 at 1:24am. I was 3 weeks early according to my due date. I was 6 lbs even and 18 1/2 inches long (18 if you minus my, once, cone-shaped head). However, a lot changes to a baby in 6 weeks. I am now 8lbs 10oz and 21 1/4inches long. I hear that I'm a pretty lucky boy.. I have an awesome Mommy and a pretty cool Daddy! They are kinda strange sometimes though... and fight over me as if they aren't going to get enough of me over the next 18 or so years! I have, count 'em, 6, yes 6, grandparents! I am told that is a good thing because that means I will get that much more attention, love... and presents (haven't yet figured out what those are, but I have a feeling I'm going to like 'em!) I also have 5 aunts! ...But sadly no uncles. I heard that my family was lacking testosterone, so that is why I am here. I am here to shake things up a bit! I don't mean to brag... but I was given an outfit that says, "Current Family Favorite," so I guess I'm kind of a big deal!
