"All done!"

Mommy heard some clear words from me this morning.  Yesterday, I was joking around with Mommy at lunch time signing "all done."  She laughed, signed "no" and said "you're not all done."  I thought that was funny so we went back and forth doing that for a few minutes.  I ate all the while saying I was all done.... I know.... I'm silly! :D

So, while Mommy was feeding me my oatmeal this morning, I remembered, signed, and SAID "ALL DONE!"  She did her part, and we went back and forth with me SAYING "all done!"  Mommy says it was really clear and she is so proud of me!  She says it seems like I have a lot more words available, but that I just need to try harder to bring them out.  I love that Mommy so easily understands me!   :)

Better rest next time....

I had a sleepless night the night before last, so Mommy was hoping nap time would be long and satisfying yesterday, but it wasn't.  Since I didn't want to lay down, Mommy: being the smart, accommodating Mommy that she is ;)... thought I may have an ear infection.  So, she took me to the doctor, and sure enough... I have an ear infection in my right ear.  Mommy then drove over to Walgreens to get my prescription filled.  At this point, I found my car seat quite comfortable and passed out.  Mommy sat in the parking lot while me and sissy rested.  She said she wishes she would have had her camera because we were a beautiful sight.  Sorry you didn't get the nap you were craving Mommy!

Last night, after a dose of my medicine, I was feeling pretty good.  I slept well, but sadly, Mommy did not.  Wren had Mommy up several times, I guess.  Wren hasn't been wanting to sleep through the night anymore.  Mommy says we MUST take a GOOD nap today!  I guess we will see..... ;)

In other news...
My baby cousin, Kinley, will be here soon!   Her Mommy is 4cm dilated and 75% effaced.  Since she is still a little early, her doctor can't help things along, but mentioned this morning that if she could, she would break her water and Kinley would be here by noon.  I guess we will just have to wait a little longer!  Come on baby Kinley!!!!! :D

Mommy crept in last night and took this picture...  Yes.  I sometimes prefer Violet over Scout!

NANA!!!!!!!!!!

Mommy says that the holidays were lots of fun, but she is glad to have things back to "normal."  I got SO MANY great presents on Christmas!!  A couple worth noting from Grandpa and Grandma Hinshaw... my shape sorter (I LOVE SHAPES!!), Tumblin' Chuck (He does somersaults all on his own!  I can't even do that yet!), and me and Daddy's favorite... Remote controlled Thomas the Train!  (He even blows out REAL STEAM!!)  Nana and Papa got me these really awesome Dinosaur Train characters (from one of my favorite shows), I really like them!  However, I've actually been playing more with the Peek-A-Boo teddy bear and cute crawling turtle that they gave Wren!  I REALLY like the turtle!  (I just started playing with him RIGHT NOW!) Hehe!  OH YEAH, and a family favorite gift was the gift certificate for a year at the Children's Discovery Museum!  Thanks Aunt Kati and Brent!!  Also, I have to mention the money Grandpa and Grandma Hinshaw gave Daddy and Mommy to pay for the fence I've heard so much about... but have yet to see...  I guess we are getting closer to that day! :)

There are pictures on Mommy's Facebook page of our Christmas festivities!

I am saying more meaningful sounds.  One of my favorites.... "Nana!"  I've found I can use it a couple of ways... "Nana"= Nana or "Nana"= Banana.  And, I am saying "Nen" for Wren, and "inin" for Aunt Lindsey.  As you can probably tell... I am enjoying the N sound! :)

Now that I can communicate an interest of mine, I can't help myself... I ask for a "Nana" often!  I don't always get it, but this morning I did!!! :D
My GLORIOUS NANA!!!!!

New words!!

So, over just the last couple of days, I have learned to say... "run," (it comes out like "un")"Nana" (which I'm learning I can use to say that I want a banana, too!), Wren (sounds like "en"), I said "BALL" (it USUALLY comes out sounding like "ul"), and "ni ni" (for Night night).  Also, I was watching Word World today and learned to say "pu!"  Putting my lips together to form sounds is one of the hardest things for me at the moment, so me and Mommy were excited that I was able to do it!  I am saying many new sounds during the day, but those are the ones that Mommy was able to understand with meaning.

And, before bed tonight, Mommy was putting lotion on me while I was sitting on her lap.  I saw the lotion bottle, and was reading "Ma" "Ma."  Mommy heard, and said, I was sounding out Ma-gic!  Baby Magic!  She was sooooo excited, and I love it when she tells me she is proud of me!  I am, too!  I am finding my voice, and I LIKE IT!!!!!!

It began last week, when Mommy decided to give sign language a better try, now that I am older and understand everything.  I have caught on fast, and I really like being able to communicate with Mommy and Daddy more easily.  I like to sign so much, that I tried making up my own signs today, but Mommy was getting confused.  She said she needed to teach me some more signs, so that I can tell her even more!  I am looking forward to it!! :D

Mommy also got me to FINALLY drink from a straw!  I really love my straw sippy cup, now!! :)

I have a new favorite book called, Go, Dog. Go!  I really like to say "dog" and "hat" and those are two words that show up A LOT in that book!  It's great, because Mommy reads to me and stops right before those words, so that I can say them!  It's so much fun!!

Here is my week in a nutshell....
Monday- Play and learn with Noah (Mommy babysits) and gymnastics with Inez (I LOVE jump jump jumping on the trampolines!!)

Tuesday- Play and learn with Noah and Oliver (my friend and son of Mommy and Daddy's friends Madeline and Lucas)

Wednesday-Free day for Mommy, which sometimes means I get to go see Nana and my friends that are there

Thursday- Play and learn with Noah

Friday- Play and learn with Noah

Saturday and Sunday- Play and learn with Mommy and Daddy!! :D

Mommy thinks it is funny to have Wren hang on my back.... I do NOT!

Mommy and Daddy think it's funny to do this to my face when taking off my shirt.

I think it's funny, too!  I run around saying "run, run, run!"

Christmas is only days away.  I hear I'm going to get LOTS of TOYS!!  I can't wait to have lots of fun with ALL OF MY FAMILY!!!

PS.... I DO NOT like visiting Santa Claus!!!!  (But... he can still bring me toys!!)

Having Fun!

This will be a catch up post... sorry it has been awhile.  It has been a busy couple of weeks!  We had Thanksgiving at our house this year, so Mommy and Daddy were in charge of cooking the Turkey.  They were a little stressed about making it nice and juicy, and the stress paid off, because it was! (Or so I heard... I am not too fond of the idea of eating Turkey.  I even wore a shirt with a turkey holding an "Eat Pizza" sign!)  Mommy tried to get a picture of me and sissy in our Thanksgiving attire, but this is all she was able to get out of me...

Over the weekend we put up our Christmas decorations!  It looks so beautiful in our house!  Daddy even put lights outside on the bushes and front porch!  Stop out to look between 5-10pm! ;)

On Saturday, after decorating the house, we drove to Peoria for the Festival of Lights display!  It was so cool!  Daddy drove and I got to sit on his lap!  Mommy held Wren in the passenger seat.  We had the heat on with the windows down so we could see the lights better!  My favorite was the BIG train and the guy skiing down the BIG hill!!  So, so, neat!!  Mommy was disappointed that she forgot to bring the camera to take pictures, but she said she won't forget next year!  Looks like this will be a tradition of ours!  Yay!!! :D

This week has been really fun!  Mommy has started watching a boy named Noah!  He is 7 months older than me, so he is potty trained and talks A LOT!  He is really fun to play with!  Looks like I won't have to be bored anymore, which makes Mommy's day a little easier!

I am trying to say many more words now!  They don't come out perfect, but Mommy knows what I'm saying.  Mommy's favorite new word of mine is...... MAMA!  I finally started saying it last week and she is beyond thrilled! :)

I made Mommy and Daddy smile this morning when Daddy was leaving for work.  He told me bye, and I blew a kiss and waved bye-bye to him.  (Waving is new for me too... I know, I know... but better late, than never, right?!)
